We are currently looking for a Senior Viral Vector Scientist to join a leading Cell and Gene Therapy company based in the London area. As the Senior Viral Vector Scientist you will be responsible for providing expertise in the execution of viral vector industrialisation projects.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Senior Viral Vector Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will become a technical expert in the area of using bioreactors and chromatography methodology for the delivery of ex vivo and in vivo cell therapies.

2. As the Senior Viral Vector Scientist you will focus on downstream process operations and deliver viral vector process and analytical development projects through technical oversights of the projects. You will further work alongside Lead Scientists to work on experimental design and execution.

3. You will work alongside the Technical Transfer function to ensure the development and tech transfer of viral vector processes. You will also provide solutions for vector cell line development and up/downstream bioprocessing.

4. You will generate manufacturing and development protocols in relation to gene therapy products to support the development and regulatory submissions.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Viral Vector Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Life Sciences related discipline such as Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Biological Sciences is essential to your application.

2. It is essential that you have experience in upstream and downstream bioprocessing of viral vectors including viral vector biology and cell line development.

3. Practical experience with cell culturing of human and/or mammalian cell lines as well as chromatography, filtration and purification is essential. Tech transfer experience from commercial or research organisations is essential.
