We are currently looking for a Senior Scientist to join a leading company based in the Ely, Cambridgeshire area. As the Senior Scientist you will be part of the Innovation team and responsible for developing, validating and running analytical methods across a variety of matrices via a number of techniques, including chromatography and mass spectrometry.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Senior Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. As the Senior Scientist you will carry out development projects to support or drive new service offerings for the teams within SSAS (Sport and Specialised Analytical Services)

2. You will interpret scientific data and deliver comprehensive scientific reports and presentations. Projects should be delivered on time and to the requirements set by clients, regulatory bodies and quality system.

3. As the Senior Scientist you will work closely with counterparts located in the USA. In addition to supporting other groups, the Innovation team carries out projects for external Sponsors, where the focus is often on nutritional biomarker analysis and healthcare studies.

4. You will us a range of instruments, including high resolution accurate mass, GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS and clinical analysis.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in Chemistry or similar scientific discipline.

2. Proven industry experience and working knowledge of quality systems (ISO 17025 or GLP).

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with a range of instruments, including high resolution accurate mass, GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS and clinical analysis.
