Sentinel Oncology Limited Technical / Operational scientist

Sentinel Oncology is currently looking to fill the role of part-time scientist to assist with the operation of laboratory tasks and other scientific operational duties. This will initially be a 6-month, 20 hours per week short term contract. As a member of the Sentinel Oncology team you will be responsible for:

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all incoming and outgoing activities to third party CRO’s
  • Dispense samples from the Sentinel Oncology compound collection ready for shipment to CRO’s
  • Curation of the Sentinel Oncology inventory
  • Manage the in-house assay request system and deal with screening requests from the team
  • Data entry from screening results into Sentinel Oncology in-house databases

Additional duties

  • Current awareness activities based on Sentinel Oncology research programmes
  • Request quotations from CRO’s based on project team requirements
  • Generation of PO’s for external activities prior to shipment of samples

Role Requirements

To enable a smooth transition and become part of a small and growing team, the successful candidate should have the following minimum profile:

  • Higher education chemistry qualification
  • 2-3 years industry experience in a laboratory environment
  • Excellent communication and team working skills

As well as the above essential skills, the following optional skills would be beneficial

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programmes
  • Experience with chemical inventory management systems
  • Broad understanding of the drug discovery process
