Are you an experienced cell culture / biological scientist who is looking for a new exciting job opportunity?

We are currently looking for either a Scientist I or Scientist II to join a leading company based in the Dundee area.

As the Scientist I / Scientist II you will have an important role within the in vitro team, focussing on the delivery of study critical tasks. As the scientist, you will have excellent aseptic technique as the priority for this role will be to work as part of the cell culture team.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Scientist I / Scientist II will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will be responsible for the culturing of both fresh rodent and cryopreserved primary hepatocytes up to 96 hours for multiple end-point studies as well as isolating primary rodent hepatocytes.

2. You will also be part of in vitro assays (gene expression and biochemical enzyme) as well as other cell culture work, including; Caco-2 cells, cancer cell lines and HEK 293 cells.

3. As the scientist, you will prepare buffers, reagents and solutions, and also (when trained) prepare dose formulations in addition to carrying out general laboratory housekeeping tasks.

4. You will contribute to a culture of collaboration and team work, and communicate effectively with colleagues and teams throughout the business.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Scientist I / Scientist II we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in biology or similar life sciences degree.

2. Proven experience in culturing primary hepatocytes is essential as well as holding a personal home office licence.

3. Working experience in a regulated GLP environment is desirable.
