We are currently supporting a global CRO based in Derbyshire who are looking for an experienced manager to become the Head of Ecotoxicology. You will manage the Ecotoxicology Department and be directly responsible for all scientific content, client liaison, recruitment, training and compliance with GLP and COSHH.


Your duties as the Head of Ecotoxicology will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will be responsible for providing scientific advice on Ecotoxicology and technical assistance within and outside of the company. Protecting the company brand and ensuring the delivery of results to clients at all times is important in your role.

2. Your strategic responsibilities will involved assessing market opportunities for new areas of aquatic ecotoxicology and biodegradation as well as making proposals for resources and capital expenditure.

3. As the Head of Ecotoxicology, your management duties will involve controlling cost, making proposals for staffing levels, ensuring timely reports, forecasting revenue and overall providing leadership to the department.

4. Representing the company in client and scientific meetings as a scientific experience on aquatic ecotoxicology and biodegradation will be an important aspect of your role.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Head of Ecotoxicology we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant PhD in a Life Sciences related discipline such as, but not limited to, Biological Sciences, Ecotoxicology, Environmental Sciences etc.

2. Previous industry experience within the Ecotoxicology field managing multiple reports and taking responsibility for departmental budgeting and forecasting is essential.
