We are currently looking for a Bioinformatics Data Analyst to join a leading genomics company based in the Chesterford, Cambridge area. As the Bioinformatics Data Analyst you will be responsible for:


Your duties as the Bioinformatics Data Analyst will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will analyse and interpret next-generation sequencing data to drive improvements in analysis and interpretation workflows.

2. As the Bioinformatics Data Analyst you will provide subject matter expertise in Oncology / Human disease to influence the scope and prioritisation of development efforts.

3. You will implement tools and solutions for cutting-edge analysis of next-generation sequencing data whilst engaging with software and algorithm teams to provide solutions to scientific and technical problems.

4. As the Bioinformatics Data Analyst you will develop, improve and maintain methods for quality assessments and customer usability of workflows.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Bioinformatics Data Analyst we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. As the Bioinformatics Data Analyst you will be educated to PhD level in a relevant discipline (e.g., genetics, bioinformatics or data science). You will also have commercial or research experience working in Oncology and / or human genetic disease.

2. You will have proven industry experience interpreting next-generation sequencing data and prototyping methods / demonstrating ideas to solve scientific problems.
3. As the Bioinformatics Data Analyst you will have experience developing software tools using software development best practice techniques.
