We are currently looking for a Next Generation Sequencing Sales Specialist to join a leading Genomics company based in Home Counties. As the Next Generation Sequencing Sales Specialist you will be responsible for increasing revenue of the Genomics portfolio, with a focus on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), through consulting with end users across biotechnology, research and academia, to grow sales and hit targets.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Scientist, with or without sales experience, to take a step up into an exciting commercial opportunity, within the fast moving World of Genetic Sequencing.


Your duties as the Next Generation Sequencing Sales Specialist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Answer incoming queries, emails and calls, as well as prospecting new customers, following leads and preparing quotes, with the aim to grow the sales of the Genomics and Next Generation Sequencing services and products.

2. Consult with customers to understand their goals and align the Genomcis products and services to these, upselling where possible. These include kits, probes, genotyping, DNA extraction, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), PCR, reagents and DNA sequencing.

3. Work closely with the Product Managers, Technical Support and Sales team to share market intelligence. Create sales reports and progress to discuss with you manager.

4. As the Next Generation Sequencing Sales Specialist (NGS), you must maintain a good knowledge of the Genomics market, competitors, new developments and sales trends.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Next Generation Sequencing Sales Specialist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Life Science Subject, such as genetics, Genomics, Molecular Biology or Medical Genetics. An MSc is preferred.

2. Proven knowledge and hands on experience with Next Generation Sequencing is essential, as well as other sequencing techniques.

3. Experience in a commercial position such as technical support or sales is desirable, as well as evidence of good phone manner, confidence and working well under pressure.
