This could be a great opportunity for a Scientist looking for training and development in the field of project management!

We are currently looking for a Research Project Manager to join a leading pharmaceutical firm based in the Northern Ireland. As the Research Project Manager you will be responsible for managing a program of biomarker and companion diagnostic projects.

The Research Project Manager will utilise their knowledge and experience of basic/applied medical science and diagnostic development, combined with excellent organisational skills to deliver projects within the company.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Research Project Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Manage the planning, design, conduct and close out of individual diagnostic development projects, mostly coming from pharmaceutical industry customers, relating to biomarker development, validation and delivery.

2. Work closely with pharma industry customers to understand individual diagnostic test requirements and translate into a project scope and work orders. Liaise with customers to ensure processing, transport and receipt of clinical samples and associated data.

3. Bring a strong scientific and technical knowledge of the biomarker field to the planning and execution of the diagnostic development projects.

4. Ensure the budget for a project is established in line with the defined project scope, and subsequently adhered to and project timelines are met. You will also support the establishment of project management activities and in conjunction with the broader project management team, ensure close alignment of project management processes between UK and US facilities.

5. Actively interact with internal and external scientific and regulatory community and publications to maintain scientific/clinical/technical/regulatory knowledge relevant to the development of biomarkers as diagnostic assays.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Research Project Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Ideally a PhD in a biological related topic (eg. molecular biology, biochemistry, biological sciences), however we will consider those who are degree qualified in a relevant discipline with additional experience gained working within the field of molecular biology.

2. Proven experience working within the life sciences, molecular oncology or diagnostics industry.

3. You will be expected to demonstrate the skills, ability and motivation to transition into a scientific project management role - alongside the requirements listed above, you should be an excellent communicator, apply a technical and agile approach to work, show the ability to manage your own work/time and ideally some experience working closely with a scientific customer or senior stakeholder.
