A Fantastic opportunity for a Gene Therapy Scientist has become available to join a leading AAV-based Gene Therapy company based in the Hertfordshire area. As the Gene Therapy Scientist you will be responsible for preclinical AAV studies through in vitro and in vivo platforms.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Gene Therapy Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Identification and development of new AAV Applications and to keep up-to date with the scientific literature and developments in the field.

2. Partner with other internal teams, especially CMC to develop translational preclinical packages for gene therapy clinical candidates.

3. Promote and suggest implementation of new methods, technologies and processes to ensure best practice.

4. You will use your extensive scientific knowledge to carry out transfection and transduction experiments for in vitro candidate screening.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Gene Therapy Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant PhD in a Life Sciences discipline (e.g. Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology etc.) in addition to hands on experience with Cell Therapy, Gene Therapy or transfection and transduction experiments.

2. Proven experience with in vitro and in vivo assays as well as knowledge of in vitro disease modelling, cell-based assays, co-culturing systems, ex vivo tissue processing or histology techniques.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with AAV vectors would be beneficial to your application.
