An exciting opportunity for a Senior Analytical Scientist has become available to join a leading Biologics Company based in the North West area. As the Senior Analytical Scientist you will be responsible for the analytical testing and cGMP release of Biologic and Gene Therapy products.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Senior Analytical Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Identifying and developing suitable characterisation analytics for non-routine/ routine and cGMP testing for new product development programmes.

2. You will support development, optimisation, qualification and technical transfer of non-validated methods (or validated methods where required) by acting as a technical lead.

3. Compile complex analytical data and writing technical reports as part of the ongoing product development activity to support Regulatory Filings.

4. Responsible for timely management of the initiation, investigation and closure of any assigned OOS's, Deviations, Change Controls and CAPAs.

5. Techniques include, but not limited to, Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS, DLS, CD, SEC-MALLS, icIEF), Electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, IEF), Chromatography (SE-UPLC, RP-HPLC, IEX, HILIC, Affinity) and Immunoassays (ELISA, Potency, HCP).

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Analytical Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Life Sciences discipline (e.g. Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology ect.) in addition to experience working in a biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry, ideally in a cGMP environment.

2. Proven industry experience analysing and characterisation biomolecules as well as some experience of developing, optimising and validating analytical assays.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with a range of analytical techniques including but not limited to LC-MS, DLS, CD, SEC-MALLS, icIEF, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, IEF, SE-UPLC, RP-HPLC, IEX, HILIC, Affinity Chromatography, ELISA, Potency and HCP assays.
