We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a motivated and driven Development Assistant to join a growing life sciences company based in Edinburgh. As the Development Assistant you will have the opportunity to support the development of the company's blockbuster product.

For the first 6-8 weeks, your role will be based offshore supporting on-going GCP field trials and will be a great introduction to medicine development within aquaculture and will provide practical, hands on experience of working in the field. It will also be a chance to learn more about the process of medicine development in aquaculture and give an understanding of the regulatory requirements for licensing a medicine within this industry. Further down the line, there will be an opportunity to become involved in a number of different projects at different stages of development, as well as plenty of career development opportunities.


Your duties as the Development Assistant - Aquaculture will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Assisting Development Manager in monitoring on-going field trials.

2. Liaising with customers and suppliers.

3. As well as working in the field, the job will also entail time spent office-based and will afford the opportunity to get involved in a number of different projects at varying stages of development.

4. There are also opportunities to get involved in other projects across the business.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Development Assistant - Aquaculture we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant Msc/PhD in a relevant life sciences subject, ideally aquaculture related, but we would also like to see applications from motivated and ambitious scientists with experience in similar fields.

2. You will be expected to demonstrate an interest in aquaculture or medicine development. Any GCP or veterinary training would be desirable, but is not essential.

3. Flexible and willing to spend periods of up to 3 weeks at a time abroad (working and living at sea). For an initial 6 weeks (minimum) this will be 3 weeks on/1 week off.
