The role and you

Due to continued growth, we are seeking to recruit a Process Development Chemist who will lead technical support for the sourcing and manufacture of all raw materials used in PAEK production.

As part of the Manufacturing Development team, the Senior Process Development Chemist will be responsible for all aspects of the process chemistry of Monomer manufacture. You will devise and deliver experimental programmes aimed at improving product quality and consistency whilst reducing the overall cost of manufacture. Working closely with Monomer plant Manufacturing and Quality teams, the role requires the use statistical techniques and process chemistry knowledge to maintain control of Monomer manufacturing processes.

The Senior Process Development Chemist will also be responsible for technical validation of new sources of Monomer and Polymer raw materials to support Victrex procurement strategy. You will provide technical support to third party suppliers to ensure that the quality of purchased raw materials meets Victrex requirements.  Educated to degree level or higher in Chemistry or a relevant scientific discipline, the ideal candidate will have significant industry experience of delivering technical solutions to meet strategic objectives, and specific experience in a similar role in the chemical industry would be desirable.

To succeed in this role, you will be an excellent communicator, practical and pragmatic with demonstrable problem-solving skills. You will be able to demonstrate a high level of quality and SHE awareness and being responsible for several projects at any time, sound organisation and leadership skills are vital for this role.
