A leading Biotechnology company in the Cambridgeshire area is looking to add an experienced Animal Technician to their mouse Biology Group in the position of Transgenic Technologist. As the Transgenic Technologist you will be working within their immunisation team performing immunisations and sample collection for their Vaccine program. To be successful in the position, experience of Microinjection (Blastocyst/Cytoplasmic injection) and Cryopreservation is desired.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Transgenic Technologist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Main responsibilities will include immunisation with novel vaccines, and sample collection.

2. Microinjection (Blastocyst/Cytoplasmic injection) and cryopreservation (preferred, or after suitable training).

3. Accurate data entry using an in-house database and Excel files will be an essential part of your role to maintain records of procedural and other lab work.

4. As part of an expanding team you will bring your technical skills into a fast moving working environment, providing essential data that helps drive projects forward.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Transgenic Technologist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Home Office Personal Licence, with modules 1-3 is essential,(module 4 is desirable).

2. Proven industry experience as a Licensed Animal Technician in a research environment.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience of using regulated procedures including Intraperitoneal, Subcutaneous, Intramuscular, Intravenous and Intradermal injections is preferable, full training will be given on procedural work.
