A leading Biotechnology company in the Cambridgeshire area are looking for a Research Associate in Molecular Biology to join their Antibody Development Team. As the Research Associate - Molecular Biology you will be responsible for design and execution of expression vector cloning to express antibodies and fusion proteins in mammalian systems.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Research Associate - Molecular Biology will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Design and execute cloning of fusion proteins, bi-specific antibodies for expression in mammalian cells using DNA assembly technologies in a timely manner.

2. Produce and purify endotoxin free expression plasmids as well as contribute to the maintenance of reagents and general lab facilities.

3. Utilise understanding of recombinant protein expression to make proactive recommendations based on comprehensive interpretation of results.

4. Ability to work in several steps of our protein production process (upstream and downstream).

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Research Associate - Molecular Biology we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Life Sciences discipline (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biology etc.) in addition to industry experience.

2. Proven industry experience in molecular biology techniques and vector design for expression of antibodies in mammalian systems (DNA manipulation, cloning, sequence alignment and analysis).

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with antibody engineering (e.g. isotype/subtype reformatting).
