A leading Life Sciences company is looking for an Analytical Development Scientist to join their product development team based in the Essex area. As the Analytical Development Scientist you will assist in the development of both quantitative and qualitative analytical testing methods for biological therapeutic products including recombinant proteins and antigens.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Analytical Development Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Developing and testing new assays to assess their suitability within each project. These could include Immunoassays, PCR and Gel Electrophoresis methods.

2. Input into the design and execution of Analytical method development protocols in coordination with other development scientists.

3. Assisting in the development and validation of analytical methods for GMP products across the development portfolio.

4. Method transfer and training of production and QC staff in analytical methods as required.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Analytical Development Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Scientific discipline e.g. Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry etc.

2. Proven industry experience in analytical methods for biologicals preferably in a GMP or GLP environment e.g. Immunoassays, PCR, gel electrophoresis

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with Method validation and process monitoring as well as low to high throughput biological sample screening and associated biological sample preparation.
