This is an exciting opportunity with a leading Life Sciences company in Berkshire. You will be a talented scientist with experience in Downstream Process Development looking to join this state-of-the-art facility in a GMP environment.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Downstream Process Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Contribution to the development, optimisation and characterisation of downstream processes for the recovery and purification of antibody-based therapeutics.

2. Undertake purification process development experiments; through various chromatography and ultrafiltration techniques including Akta, UNICORN, Size Exclusion, Ion Exchange.

3. Assist with evaluation of new bioprocess technologies by identifying and utilising appropriate analytical techniques. For example HPLC, ELISA, electrophoresis for assessing product purity and protein characterisation.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Downstream Process Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. You will possess a strong Bachelor's degree, Masters or PhD in a related field

2. You will have experience working with protein purification in the Pharmaceutical Industry, or have completed a placement year in a similar field.

3. An understanding of analytical methods (HPLC, ELISA and electrophoresis) for assessing product purity and protein characterisation would be highly desirable
