We are currently looking for a Tech Transfer Scientist to join an exciting and growing Biotechnology company based in Essex. As the Tech Transfer Scientist you will be responsible for performing individual technical transfer projects and scaling up into full scale production processes in coordination with the Process Development department.


Your duties as the Tech Transfer Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Coordinate and implement technical transfer strategy and activities between Process Development and Production departments and additional stakeholders.

2. Coordinate as part of a team with QA, QC technical transfer staff and the wider manufacturing teams to ensure timely transfer project implementation to agreed timescales and to GMP.

3. Drive process optimization activities, both within existing and newly transferred processes to increase yield and drive down batch costs.

4. You will perform process optimization of existing products and processes collaborating with existing staff where necessary.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Tech Transfer Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Life Science discipline along with experience in bioprocessing or biopharmaceutical manufacturing

2. Proven industry experience in technical transfer to GMP manufacturing of biopharmaceutical products through either upstream or downstream processing.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with process validation and computer systems validation would be extremely desirable.
