We are currently looking for a Senior Process Development Scientist to join a leading company based in the Oxfordshire. As the Senior Process Development Scientist you will be responsible for providing technical leadership from the bench in upstream and downstream development of protein and virus candidates.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Senior Process Development Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Design and execute small scale shake flask experiments and bioreactor processes to optimise the upstream process for viral candidates.

2. Development of downstream processes including UF/DF and chromatographic techniques for the purification of proteins and viral candidates.

3. Optimisation and scale-up of purification processes for transfer to a contact manufacturing organisation for GMP manufacture.

4. Assist in the technical transfer of purification processes to a relevant CMO.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Process Development Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree, masters and ideally a PhD in a relevant biological or engineering related discipline along with extensive experience i in industrial bioprocessing.

2. Proven industry experience in both upstream and downstream processing for biopharmaceutical production.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with technical transfer to GMP manufacturing would be highly desirable.
