A fantastic opportunity has become available for an Analytical Associate Scientist to join a leading Contract Research Organisation based in the Oxfordshire area. As the Analytical Associate Scientist you will be involved in a range of internal platform development and commercial projects, predominantly focusing on establishing analytical processes and methodologies for biotherapeutics.


Your duties as the Analytical Associate Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will predominantly be lab-based and will work closely with colleagues and collaborate with internal teams to define and design projects.

2. You will utilize a number of analytical techniques including but not limited to qPCR, ELISA, Western blotting, SPR and HPLC (Affinity, SEC).

3. You will help in establishing SOPs and methods, and utilizing the internal LIMS system.

4. You will promote and suggest implementation of new methods, technologies and processes and will support the line manager in ensuring the smooth running of the group.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Analytical Associate Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Life Sciences discipline (e.g. Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry etc.) in addition to industry experience.

2. Proven industry experience using qPCR (ideally for quantitation of viral particles), developing and testing of ELISAs against novel proteins and experience of capillary-based Western Blotting systems.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience of proteins and viral vectors including antibodies, antibody-fragments, Lentivirus and AAV.
