We are currently looking for an enthusiastic R&D Scientist to join an innovative biotech company based in the Bedfordshire area. As the R&D Scientist you will be responsible for taking an active role in the development of lateral flow assays.


Your duties as the R&D Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Creating and conducting laboratory based experiments and conducting test protocols and procedures, and product evaluation. You will also process and analyse your results and data, generating data to substantiate claims regarding the safety and efficacy of new products.

2. Reading and writing technical reports and specifications, and maintaining appropriate records.

3. Working with product pipelines at various stages of development. Formulating and establishing product design and performance objectives, normally in consultation with other functions, including research, marketing and production, as well as contractors, suppliers and customers.

4. Initiating and generating ideas based on reading and research. Transferring new technologies across a range of product categories;


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the R&D Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree (or higher) in a scientific discipline. You will also be expected to demonstrate some relevant laboratory experience within a regulated R&D or product development laboratory (eg. ISO13485).

2. Proven industry experience in immunoassays, ELISAs or lateral flow assays.

3. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work well in a team and an enthusiasm for research and development of new scientific products.
