Hyper Recruitment Solutions are currently searching for a Business Development Manager - BioProcess to join an exciting Biotechnology Innovation Company based in the North East. As the Business Development Manager - BioProcess you will be responsible for identifying and securing collaboration opportunities, managing projects, and managing Customer Relationships, in order to increase revenue.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Business Development Manager - BioProcess will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Identify and target academic and industrial organisations who are developing novel products in the BioProcess area, for possible research collaborations or "fee for service" contracts. Manage these R&D projects and maintain excellent customer relationships.

2. Build collaborative partnerships and relationships with research centres, universities, technology transfer offices and academic communities, through networking, to ensure a flow of high quality projects.

3. Attend events and conferences for targeted networking and to raise our clients profile in the BioProcess Sector

4. Maintain an understanding of the public funding network and be responsible for the preparation of bids and proposals, and the management of external support where necessary.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Business Development Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Scientific or Engineering related discipline, such as Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemical engineering, Biochemistry or Bioprocessing is essential. An MSc or PhD is desirable.

2. Proven industry experience in a technical and/or commercial function, within a biotechnology or bioprocess related sector. Contacts within universities and technology transfer offices are desirable.

3. A working knowledge of the industrial applications of synthetic biology and biocatalysts, and practical experience of Synthetic Biology, Systems Biology, Fermentation, Biocatalysm or Biorefining.
