We are currently looking for a Mammalian Display Scientist to join an innovative and pioneering Life Sciences company based in the Cambridge area. As the Mammalian Display Scientist you will be responsible for the generation of cellular libraries for the surface display of antibodies, T-cell receptors, and other proteins by retroviral, lentiviral or direct gene transfer.


Your duties as the Mammalian Display Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Interrogation of cellular libraries by FACS and other selection methods in order to discover novel or optimised molecules for use as discovery tools, or for advancement as clinical leads.

2. Development and optimization of eukaryotic (especially mammalian) gene transfer procedures, protocols for rapid high-throughput clonal isolation and sequencing, and development and optimization of protocols to scale up library diversity as well as development and implementation of procedures for gene engineering in mammalian cells.

3. You will be responsible for leading a small team to establish newprotocols as well asrun established methods. The position integrates closely with our Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics teams, as well as with the Protein Sciences and international immunobiology and T-cell sciences teams.

4. You will be hands-on in the laboratory as well as co-ordinating and supervising tasks. You will also be required to present results both internally and externally.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Mammalian Display Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree and preferably a PhD in Immunology, cell biology or similar along with experience working with antibodies in a discovery setting.

2. Proven industry experience in eukaryotic, and especially mammalian cell culture, FACS-based analytical assays and preparative methods.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with relevant molecular biology/cell biology experience in eukaryotic genetics and reporter assays.
