A Fantastic opportunity for a Study Scientist within Pathology has become available to join a leading Life Sciences company based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Study Scientist - Pathology you will be responsible for performing both Electron Microscopy and Immunohistochemistry/Cross Reactivity studies within the companies Pathology team.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Study Scientist - Pathology will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Assisting and performing Immunohistochemical, Cross Reactivity and Electron microscopy techniques within the department.

2. Attending Post Mortems for collection of tissues and providing assistance with microautoradiography studies as and when required.

3. Sectioning of frozen/cryostat tissues, resin and paraffin embedded tissue for studies in addition to helping to maintain accurate logs of tissues stored in freezers and antibodies and associated reagents in fridges/freezers.

4. Ensuring all work conforms to the study plan, Departmental SOP's, GLP and Departmental standards. To train and supervise junior staff and assist Head of Department in general smooth running of the laboratory/department.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Study Scientist - Pathology we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Demonstration of both practical and theoretical experience in Immunohistochemistry / Tissue Cross Reactivity / Electron Microscopy as well as attendance at animal Post Mortems.

2. Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot a broad range of technical and scientific issues.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience of a GLP environment.
