My client is currently looking for a Analytical Scientist with a focus in Molecular Biology to join their growing Cell Therapy company based in the London area. As the Analytical Scientist - Molecular Biology you will be responsible for applying in-depth technical expertise across a range of projects to help develop and validate innovative approaches for cell characterisation which can be used to support cell therapy development.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Analytical Scientist - Molecular Biology will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Working with senior scientists to design and plan analytical research activities in accordance with agreed project plans and you will be responsible for executing agreed research independently with minimal supervision.

2. You will independently analyse raw data to a high standard and present results to project teams and external clients/collaborators as appropriate.

3. You will produce detailed protocols and SOP's to allow assay transfer both internally and externally.

4. You will work on the development, optimisation and validation of RT-qPCR assays including primer design and DNA/RNA isolation and purification using a range of techniques.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Analytical Scientist - Molecular Biology we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant higher level degree in a Life Sciences discipline that had a strong emphasis on molecular biology techniques (e.g. Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry etc) with relevant industry experience.

2. Proven industry experience in a cell and gene therapy environment that allowed you gain extensive experience in RT-qPCR, transcript analysis, genotyping methods and mammalian cell culture.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with low level DNA/RNA detection, next generation sequencing and assay development and optimisation is also desirable.
