We are currently looking for a Purification Development Scientist experienced with viruses to join a global Life Sciences company based in the Berkshire area. As the Purification Development Scientist you will be responsible for execution and delivery of your own purification development projects, with particular attention to safety, quality, on time and right first time

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Purification Development Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will plan, design and perform virus validation studies to demonstrate the effectiveness of purification processes for the reduction of viruses.

2. Perform scaled down purification processes at internal and external testing facilities and analyse protein samples by a variety of analytical techniques.

3. Ensure equipment and materials required for a study are used as defined by GMP and regulatory requirements.

4. Prepare and deliver high quality presentations, protocols and reports.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Purification Development Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Life Sciences / Biotechnology related discipline and ideally a PhD along with industry experience.

2. Proven industry experience in purification development and ideally virus reduction studies.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience working in a GLP / GMP / GxP laboratory would be highly desirable.
