An exciting opportunity has opened up for an Instrument Support Engineer to join a leading Life Science company based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Instrument Support Engineer you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of scientific equipment, acting as the first point of call for instrument breakdowns and assessing whether the repair can be carried out in-house or arranging an engineer call-out.


Your duties as the Instrument Support Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will plan, co-ordinate and carry out troubleshooting or maintenance in a timely manner in order to maximise instrument uptime for the laboratory teams.

2. As Instrument Support Engineer, you will provide instrument support to ensure projects are delivered to agreed timelines.

3. You will actively promote best practice and instrument related regulatory compliance across the group.

4. As Instrument Support Engineer, you will record and report instrument maintenance in compliance with quality standards and actively communicate with all staff on a technical level.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Instrument Support Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Scientific or Engineering discipline or equivalent qualification and extensive experience within a highly regulated Pharmaceutical or Biopharmaceutical environment.

2. Proven industry experience working with a wide range of instruments including HPLC, MS and GC is essential.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience working within ISO/GxP/GMP regulations.
