We currently have a great opportunity for an Laboratory Technician to join a global life sciences company based in the Oxfordshire area. As the Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing team in the laboratory.

This could be a great opportunity for a 2015 or 2016 Biological Sciences graduate who has gained some initial laboratory experience to build their portfolio of skills.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Laboratory Technician will be laboratory based, however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. The main duties include the purification and conjugation of antibodies using affinity chromatography, ion exchange and gel filtration.

2. This is a cross functional role and you will have opportunities to work in cell culture and quality control testing., including the opportunity to work with cell culture and immunoassay.

3. You will also be involved with helping to manage troubleshooting issues, review process improvements and process efficiency.

4. A can do' attitude is a must as you will be expected to work meticulously and methodically to ISO9001 quality systems.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Laboratory Technician we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Biological Sciences based discipline. You will also need additional experience working within an industrial laboratory, at least a year post graduate working experience or a year in industry during your degree.

2. Proven industry experience with a range of laboratory techniques - it is essential that you have hands on experience with protein purification using affinity chromatography, ion exchange chromatography or gel filtration, plus practical experience with SDS PAGE and/or western blotting. Any additional experience with aseptic techniques, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry or ELISA would be an advantage.

3. Practical experience working in an ISO9001 regulated facility.
