Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Scientist II (Biologics, Western Blott, Imaging, Flow Cytometry) to join a leading Life Sciences company based in the Cambridge area.

As the Scientist II you will be in a desk based role (outside of the lab), responsible for organising, planning, reviewing laboratory experiments to GMP standards.


Your duties as the Scientist II will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Organising, planning, reviewing and running laboratory experiments on Biologics and Protein / Cellular Biology by providing expertise on Western Blott, Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry techniques.

2. Support the Characterisation of new and core products as well as externally supplied antibodies to the Characterisation team.

3. Support the workflow of Western Blot (WB), Imaging and Flow Cytometry, as required, to ensure that projects with the highest priority are progressed as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

4. Take responsibility for the updating of tracking systems and datasheets and ensure any changes are documented and follow standard operating procedures.

5. Ensure compliance with Quality policies, SOPs and Health and Safety procedures to GLP and GMP standards.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Scientist II (Biologics, Western Blot, Imaging, Flow Cytometry) we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree or PhD in a Scientific Discipline in Biological Sciences, or Cell Biology related.

2. Proven industry experience in the pharmacetuical or biopharmacetuical industry or in a research setting.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry and ICC/IF.
