We are currently looking for an Experienced Purification Scientist to join a leading international clinical and commercial manufacturer of biologics and pharmaceuticals based in the West Midlands. As the Experienced Purification Scientist you will be responsible for assisting with projects in downstream processing within the GMP facility.


Your duties as the Experienced Purification Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Support Senior Scientist in scheduling and planning GMP manufacturing campaigns as required, along with executing assigned programmes of GMP manufacturing in an efficient and compliant manner.

2. Contribute to the planning of process development, technology transfer and GMP projects by providing estimates for required resources and schedules.

3. Support the Product Delivery Group in maintaining documentation compliance in respect of SOP updates, change control generation and close-out and support with deviation investigations as necessary.

4. Provide support as required on assigned process development / technology transfer experimental work both in-house and contractually in a timely manner.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Experienced Purification Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Life Science discipline such as Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or similar along with industrial experience in downstream processing.

2. Proven industry experience with purification of biomolecules within a GMP environment is essential.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with Plasmid DNA purification is highly advantageous.
