The ideal opportunity for a Senior Scientist to join an exciting and growing Biologics company in the North West. As the Senior Assay Development Scientist you will be responsible for biologics assay development and contributing to exciting projects that really add value to the Biopharmaceutical industry.


Your duties as the Senior Assay Development Scientist will be to support the Analytical Applications team with a diverse range of challenging innovator and biosimilar projects.

Your role will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Performing biologics assay development, optimisation and assay qualification methods for the analysis of biomolecules.

2. Performing equipment qualification and test method validation and writing technical protocols to act as the technical lead in a cGMP environment.

3. Support the testing and cGMP release of products from the early concept though to registration for marketing approval in a dynamic and fast moving environment.

4. Using chromatography techniques such as SE-UPLC, RP-HPLC, AEX and HILIC. Development of immunoassays using ELISA, potency assays, host cell proteins.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Scientific discipline and Biopharmaceutical or Pharmaceutical experience.

2. Proven industry experience using analytical methodologies for the characterisation, in-process and batch release testing of potential biopharmaceutical products at different phases of development.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with high throughput technologies, automated ELISA's and UPLC methodologies is highly desirable.
