An exciting opportunity for a Bioprocess Technical Specialist to join an expanding global pharmaceutical company based in the North Wales area. As the Bioprocess Technical Specialist you will be responsible for developing either upstream or downstream processes for the manufacture of potent biopharmaceuticals, along with mentoring and supervising.


Your duties as the Bioprocess Technical Specialist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Design and optimise processes either in Upstream fermentation or Downstream purification that are scalable and able to transfer into GMP manufacturing.

2. Apply effective bioprocess control testing strategies (Quality by Design) and complete process validation tasks in accordance with ICH guidelines.

3. Support the implementation of new protocols within the new bioprocessing facilities, technologies and laboratories.

4. Offer a technical expertise within upstream or downstream processing and take responsibility and ownership for your work within the business.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Bioprocess Technical Specialist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a life science discipline along with industry experience either in upstream fermentation or downstream purification.

2. Proven industry experience in the development of upstream or downstream processing for the GMP production of biopharmaceuticals.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with small to medium scale fermentation projects or protein purification (chromatography and filtration) that is scalable to GMP.
