Are you an experienced GCMS Analyst looking for a new exciting job opportunity?

We are currently looking for a GCMS Analyst to join a leading life sciences company based in the Manchester area.

As the GCMS Analyst you will be responsible for overseeing other analyst's work within the organics - land department. You will need to have significant scientific knowledge across multiple analytical techniques.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the GCMS Analyst will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Under the supervision from the section manager, you will be responsible for running the GCMS (gas chromatography mass spectrometry) instrumentation, calibration, quality control and data processing under the UKAS regulations.

2. You will be working in a fast faced, high volume environment, testing various environmental samples using the GCMS instrument.

3. You'd be required to be compliant with SOP's and keep up to date with documentation. As an analyst, you will also be responsible for monitoring the system for stock control of items used in the laboratory.

4. You are required to communicate and liaise with both internal laboratory staff, sample preparation staff, the customer services team and effectively communicating any problems or training needs you may have.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the GCMS Analyst we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in Life Sciences or equivalent.

2. Working knowledge and practical experience with GCMS instrument is essential. Experience analysing or testing samples in a fast paced environment is highly advantageous.

3. Knowledge of quality systems is also desirable but not essential.
