Head of Programme Management

We are currently looking for a Head of Programme Management to join a growing drug discovery and development company based in the UK. The location of this role is flexible and will be home based, however we are looking for someone who can be flexible to undertake travel across the UK as required.

As the Head of Programme Management you will be responsible for managing discovery and development programmes and providing a single point of contact for the client. Leading a small team of programme managers, you will work closely with the scientific teams to understand the client needs and priorities and ensure the smooth running of a variety of complex and varied discovery and development programmes. The role demands a clear understanding of the drug development process and the ability to make a positive contribution to the programme, in terms of deliverables and scientifically. Liaison with both internal and the client's scientific personnel is key in this role, as is astute management of the customer interface. The projection of a professional external image and application of customer service standards is pivotal for this role.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Head of Programme Management will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Act as the interface between the client and our internal personnel to deliver professional programme management.

2. Schedule each programme to meet defined deadlines, monitor and manage all programme elements.

3. Prepare regular status reports on on-going/projected studies, which will include both a scientific update as well as the current financial status of the programme.

4. Establish and co-ordinate the required work at internal project team meetings plus attend specific client meetings if requested.

5. Provide scientific advice and assistance throughout the programme.

6. Construct and monitor the project payment schedules, ensure contractual liabilities are fair and reasonable and contribute to the development of the overall pricing policy.

7. Assist and participate in the development of strategic objectives.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Head of Programme Management we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Life Sciences related discipline plus experience working within a similar role within the life sciences sector (eg. Project Manager, Programme Manager, or Head of PM).

2. Proven industry experience managing development programmes to deliver IND or CTA submissions. In addition, knowledge / experience of GMP would be a benefit.

3. As this role is home based, you will be expected to manage a small team of programme managers remotely. This will involve regular travel across the UK.
