We are currently looking for a Senior Pesticide Residue Analyst / Scientist to join a growing analytical testing company based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Senior Pesticide Residue Analyst / Scientist you will be responsible for entire study process from sample preparation all the way through to final report. The position involves hands on laboratory-based work using cutting edge LC-MS/MS and GC MS/MS instrumentation and analysing food samples for pesticide residues and contaminants.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Senior Pesticide Residue Analyst / Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Assist in the research and development of new LCMS, GCMS or GCMSMS methods.

2. Validate new and existing methods to ISO 17025 guidelines.

3. Mentor and develop more junior analytical chemists.

4. Ensuring delivery of analysis in accordance with the testing requirements.

5. Carry out routine analysis on a variety of equipment for residues and contaminants.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Pesticide Residue Analyst we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree or higher in a field related to Chemistry. In addition to this, you will also be expected to demonstrate significant experience with chromatography / mass spectrometry techniques including LCMS, LCMSMS, GCMS, GCMSMS and GC.

2. You will have experience of method development and method validation of the above listed techniques as well as some proficiency testing.

3. Ideally you will have some experience working in a food related environment on pesticides / residues, however we will also be interested in considering candidates from similar sectors.
