This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Society of Chemistry as a Senior Policy Advisor. Our Science Team is at the forefront of our initiatives to support the research community through policy and advocacy as well as direct support for networks, events, grants and prizes. 

You will have a very varied role developing and leading programmes of activity and advocacy campaigns for the chemical sciences research community. Your role will involve understanding the external research environment, gathering evidence, developing position statements, policy consultation responses and reports. You will work actively to communicate with stakeholders including: government departments; individuals, groups and committees in Parliament; funding bodies and sister societies; members of the research community from academia and industry including our member Divisions, Science Education and Industry Board, Council and Heads of Chemistry UK.  

You will have a key input to out science team strategy and provide expert advice and briefings to colleagues.

A science degree is essential as is knowledge of the UK Higher Education sector and of research and innovation policy in the UK and internationally.
